Aberdeen Developers are pleased to present a talk by David Muir on Thursday 22nd March 2012 at the Robert Gordon University.
A Step into Workflow Foundation 4
As software developers, we are currently on the lookout for tools and frameworks which we can utilise in order to improve our efficiency and productivity. It is important to understand what these are, what they can do, why they are useful and most important when we should use them.
This session aims to provide introduction by example to Workflow Foundation 4. We will look at what Workflow Foundation is, what it can do and why we should use it. We will then look into some examples with emphasis on:
- Workflow Authoring Models
- Working with Data
- Custom Activities
- Workflow Services
As a conclusion to the session we will then look at when we should use Workflow Foundation.
Speaker Bio
David Muir (@DJMuir) is a software developer based in Glasgow. He has over 6 years experience in developing applications using both the .NET Framework and .NET Compact Framework during which time he has worked towards his MCPD. He has vast experience in developing products for the hotel industry and whilst at his previous position with Equator, was instrumental in the development of the new Macdonald Hotels website, specifically with integration of 3rd party services. David is also an avid user of Umbraco and is expert in its customisation. Away from the development world, David has a keen interest in swimming. He has won 12 national titles at both Age Group and Junior level and has represented Scotland at international events including competing in the Swimming World Cup

Formed in June 2010, the Aberdeen Developers .Net User Group is a non-profit user group which aims to benefit software developers in and around the Aberdeen area.
Primarily, we aim to offer in person events which deal with the various aspects of .Net Development. The topics for these meetings are decided by the User Group Committee, however, if there is a particular area that you would like to see an event on, then please feel free to get in touch with us.
